Seattle's First Permitted Straw Bale Project

Take a truck load of straw wrap it in wire and Stucco add a roof, solar heat, windows and doors and voila! Seattle has it's first permitted straw bale project.

  1. Wow, looks like a lot of fun. There was a whole lot of pictures on RA's site. Did Seattle require any special rain screens or additional insulation/layers to the walls? Is there an overall R value (or U value) associated with the current wall design? -thanks
